The Queen's IRC Research Fellowship initiative is intended to build partnerships with academics and experienced practitioners in order to generate and disseminate leading-edge knowledge in organization development and labour relations.

David Weiss
Senior Research Fellow

Dr. David Weiss is President and CEO of Weiss International Ltd. David. His team of organizational consultants lead innovative consulting projects that generate effective strategy, leadership, and HR solutions for Boards, executives and senior leaders throughout North America and Europe.

David has written more than 30 journal and trade articles and three best-selling business books: The Leadership Gap (Wiley, 2005, co-authored), High Performance HR (Wiley, 2000), and Beyond the Walls of Conflict (McGraw Hill, 1996). His fourth book, Leadership Solutions (Jossey-Bass, co-authored), was published in September 2007.

David received his doctorate from the University of Toronto and has three Masters Degrees in Education, Psychology, and Philosophy.

Françoise Morissette
Research Fellow

A bilingual human resource consultant, Françoise Morissette is a major contributor to the field of organization development in Canada. She has been a faculty member at Queen's IRC since 1992 and has played a key role in developing the Certificates in organizational development.

Françoise has worked in the private, public, and para-public sectors across North America and in Europe, namely in Finland, Sweden, the UK, and France. Her field of expertise is leadership development, and since 2004 she has conducted, with colleague Amal Henein, the largest research in Canada in leadership development. The results form the basis of their book, Made in Canada Leadership (John Wiley and Sons, 2007).

Françoise holds an undergraduate degree in human sciences from the University of Ottawa and a graduate degree (adult education) from l'Université de Montréal. She is also certified as a professional coach by the International Coach Federation.
