Stephanie Noel

Stephanie Noel is the Business Development Manager for Queen's University Industrial Relations Centre (IRC). The IRC provides professional development programs for executives across Canada in the areas of human resources, labour relations, and organizational development. The IRC conducts and disseminates practitioner-focused research that supports its programming.

In her dynamic role, Stephanie is responsible for ensuring that the design and delivery of each program adheres to the IRC's standard of excellence. She leads the IRC's Marketing Team, and represents the IRC at various tradeshows across Canada. Stephanie is instrumental in developing and strengthening the IRC's relationships with organizations and participants. In addition, she coordinates the IRC's custom programming, working with clients to tailor programs specifically to their organization's learning needs.

Stephanie's research interests include change management and labour relations (LR) practices. Most recently, Stephanie worked with IRC Facilitator, Anne Grant, to launch a national study that explored the professional development needs of LR practitioners. The findings from this study allowed the IRC to develop and launch an Advanced LR certificate series, emphasizing knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical for successful LR professionals. Throughout her career, Stephanie has collaborated with IRC Senior Research Fellow, Carol Beatty, to conduct studies on change management. Notably, Carol and Stephanie investigated the implementation of approximately 350 organizational change initiatives and their key success factors. Data analysis identified significant change management best practices.

Given her experience and research interests, Stephanie is a co-facilitator on various IRC programs, including Change Management, Building Smart Teams, Essentials of Organizational Strategy, Labour Relations, and custom programs. As an educator, Stephanie has also taught at Royal Military College of Canada for several years within the Department of Business Administration.

Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Honours) degree from Laurentian University, and her Masters of Business Administration from Royal Military College of Canada. She currently lives in Kingston with her husband and two children.
