
Cook, IanThroughout his career Ian J. Cook, MA, MBA, CHRP, has pursued his fascination with people and business. His quest to understand, at a fundamental level, what it takes for organizations, and the people in them, to thrive and continue thriving has led down numerous inter-related paths. During his early career, Ian was both an entrepreneur and an operational manager. These experiences led him into consulting on organizational effectiveness, a path he followed for 10 years while serving some of the World's leading organizations. Ian has established a reputation as a strategic business builder, who is far-sighted and thought provoking. For BC HRMA, Ian has led the creation and development of the HR Metrics Service; Canada's most innovative HR benchmarking service. He is also a regular speaker and writer on HR strategy and the business impact of talent. Ian holds an MA in Politics and Philosophy from Edinburgh University, UK. He has an MBA from Lancaster University, UK. He is a CHRP and is certified in a series of psychometric and leadership assessment tools. A global citizen, Ian has chosen to make his home in Vancouver where he heads up the growth of BC HRMA's research and learning services.
